Huntsmen Jamie Green leads the hounds at the start of the first hunt of the season after the annual Blessing of the Hounds at Middleton Place Plantation November 25, 2012 in Charleston, South Carolina. Fox Hunting in South Carolina is a drag hunt which doesn’t kill live foxes.
The hunting hounds here are blessed as well, don’t worry! We’re Protestant of course, so it’s a little more subtle.

Liking the new season so far, everyone? Glad you all got to see me today, though I wish I’d been invited into the dining room before the food plates had all been cleared. Hopefully Lady Edith’s wedding will bring wedding guests and more dogs to meet!

The Tyrolean Hound descends from the ancient Celtic hounds. Pure breeding from the old Bracke hounds began in Tyrol around 1860 and in 1896 a standard was drawn up. The Tyrolean Hound is an excellent hunting dog for the woods and mountains, used to hunt hare and fox and for tracking all sorts of wounded game.
So interesting! I’m very new compared to him.

Ahhh lovely day, lovely me. I hope we go on an outing this week-end, now that I know what that is!

temple of the dog

Someone needs to commission a spinoff based around the hounds of Downton Abbey and it needs to be animated à la Capital Critters.
As far as I know I’m available for voice work. Just send the pitch to my people.

Good heavens what’s this then?

Do you all know this other dog blog? A lovely place to see many kinds of hunting and hound dogs, running and probably being quite loud. They make me want to go for a nice chase in the brisk air!
